Believe it or not, this week's story is set back in the Myth & Science universe again just a few hours after the events of "Fateful Meeting."
It did go 150 words or so over the usual limit, but it worked so well, I decided to keep it. I'll be extra careful not to "cheat" next week.

Today's prompt took me all the way back to the first Flash Fiction Friday post, "Don't Go Near the Well." This week, we get some clue what happened to Isaac, Mary, and the rest of their family.
I promised I'd get away from my "established" universes for these shorts, and this week I did. This week's is the first story I've had troubles writing since the first one in the series. It kept wanting to go past the 500 word limit, but I managed to trim it back. I hope you like this bit of something completely different.
