I haven't decided if this pair of stories is in any universe in particular yet, but this is the same Honey found in "Leave Sleeping Cats Be." It takes place several months after that one, but you don't need to have read the other flash fiction for this one to make sense, just a general idea about typical cat personality traits.

Today's story is a departure from my usual style. It's not quite science fiction or fantasy. It's more of a metaphysical piece based on a mashup of several conversations I've had with other writers regarding character building and creation with a twist. It's also probably as close to any kind of thriller I'll ever write because I feel I just don't write horror very well at all.

Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy it.

I'm surprised, but today's story turned out to be another general fiction. Bonus points if you can figure out the series alluded to in this one. I binge watched the whole thing while not feeling so well over the last week or so, and the idea to reference it was too funny to pass up, at least in my head.

Today's "flash" fiction got a bit out of hand. It topped out at just under a thousand words instead of the usual 500, but it worked so well, I didn't have the heart to cut nearly half of it. I hope you enjoy it all the same.

​This week's is also a first. It's actually general fiction, which I've never managed to write without hating before.

Today's flash fiction is one where I wish I had more than 500 words. It's one I can almost guarantee you will end up being added to before being included in my next short story collection. I have a full fledged idea, but I could really only introduce the story within the 500 word limit without "info dumping."
