Today's story is another from the Myth and Science universe featuring Jenn and our resident adolescent refugee from space, Lily. It is set a few months after the events discussed in, "I have the Weirdest Friends," but you don't need to know anything aside from what has been mentioned in this paragraph to understand the story.
Born of the Wall is set less than an hour after the events of "Conflict of Instinct" in the Myth & Science universe. You don't have to have read any of the other stories in the series for this one to make sense.
Today's story takes us back to the Myth and Science Universe around about eight hundred years before the events of "The Accord is Struck," fae realm time. But, as always, you don't have to have read the other stories in the series to understand this one.
It's time for something fun, so I've decided to do The Naughty List tag, created by Jenna Moreci.
I had a really difficult time trying to decide between doing this tag for The Icarus Project and the Myth and Science universe, since I am working on a short story anthology for that one. So I decided to do them both! I did a version for The Icarus Project last week, so make sure to go check that one out if you missed it.
Here's the one for the Myth and Science universe today.
Today's story is set back in the Myth and Science universe most of an hour after the events of "The More Things Change." Having read the other flash fictions can be helpful, but it's not needed to understand and enjoy the story.
You can also find the audio version, as well as a playlist with all the stories in the universe so far in chronological order, on the Eng Family Vlogs channel over on YouTube.
We're back in the Myth and Science Universe today a century or so before the events of "Don't Go Near the Well." This flash fiction is set as the earliest in the series, so you absolutely don't have to have read anything in it to understand and enjoy today's installment.
Find the audio version of this story here. Or listen to a playlist of all the Myth and Science audios in chronological order.
We're back to the Myth and Science Universe today with a story set a day or two after the events of "Fateful Meeting" and "Friends at First Fight."
Having read at least those two stories helps fill in the backstory, but it's not necessary to understand what's going on in today's flash fiction.
I apologize for the delay in posting. I prefer to wait until I have the audio ready to post at the same time, and I wanted C. L. to help record the male voices as he's been doing with the last several audios. However, with the beginning of warmer weather, our neighbors have been mowing lawns and playing on four wheelers until late in the evening, meaning we couldn't cut a clean recording. So I finally gave up and just recorded it all myself this morning.
Recording narration and voicing three characters is no joke, even for such a short piece, is no joke! Props to all the voice actors out there. You don't really understand what a physical strain that kind of vocal gymnastics can be until you actually give it a shot.
Today's story takes us back to the Myth and Science Universe again. I know I've been a bit heavy on that universe lately. I promise we'll have at least three weeks before we have another one.
"Conflict of Instinct" is set a few decades after "Making the List" and a few kingdoms over in the Fae realm.
You don't have to have read any of the other stories set in the universe to understand what's happening though.
As always, you can also listen to the audio version here.
Today's flash fic takes us back to the Myth and Science Universe several months after the events of "I Have the Weirdest Friends." Okay, so it's not the "long story" about how Jenn and Penelope found out Lily wasn't from Earth. That story's being saved for the Myth and Science Universe short story collection in the works, but today's story happens pretty much right after that one.
Having a passing familiarity with the universe helps, but it's not necessary to enjoy or understand the story.
You can also listen to the audio version.
When I saw the prompt for today's story, I knew it would have to be set somewhere, sometime in the Myth and Science Universe. It's set toward the beginning of the universe's timeline, so while having already read "Don't Go Near the Well" is helpful, it's not needed to enjoy the story. It's set a year or so after the events of "Don't Go Near the Well" and a couple of years from "Flight from Mab's Castle."
You can also find the audio version here.
