Have you noticed the slow down on writing Icarus that's happened lately? There are a few different reasons for that. I can't get into all of them, but here's what I can tell you about the reasons I can discuss right now. Planning has been more than a little tenuous for the past couple of months for a couple of different reasons. Ill family members, a large project that may or may not happen dependent upon any number of factors, and the usual spring health issues for those of us with allergies meant plans could change any time. Honestly, that's still an issue, although a lesser one now. Because of this, I've been working on what absolutely has to get done on any given day first, projects that are more time sensitive next, and I've been working on longer term projects if there's time left. Obviously, I haven't had a huge amount of time left over for Icarus the past few weeks. To be quite frank, I've only kept up with regular posting on this blog and the one over at Contented Comfort because I've set aside time on Saturday mornings to write and schedule them for the week. Eng Family Vlogs hasn't been quite as fortunate, although that has as much to do with my phone's camera glitching so much and often we were forced to break down and invest in an actual camera again as it does time management issues. One of those time sensitive projects was sewing a church dress for the girls. I didn't manage to get one done for the youngest, but I did finish the maxi dress for my eldest in time for Easter. Having been handed down three new church dresses that same week has made waiting for her "custom" dress easier for the youngest. It will probably be next week before I have the chance to even cut out the pieces for her dress. Another thing has been the garden. My mother took me to her favorite greenhouse late last week. It was time to plant the summer garden, and a surprise freeze out-of-state killed most of our spring garden anyway. So I picked up enough flowers and vines to fill the big pot on our front porch as well as nine tomato plants of three types, two bell peppers, and three banana peppers, and we spent a good chunk of Friday morning planting. I'm hoping to get back into Icarus' rough this week. Making the inserts and then the first couple fragrances in the 2017 Contented Comfort lines is first on the daily to do lists though, at least through tomorrow. But one batch per day is pretty doable, at least for relatively simple insert and marbled designs like the ones I'm doing today and tomorrow. If I needed to make batches of ones that require five to eight pours over several days like Girl Power, Skinny Bloke, and Mesmeric Amphibian, to name a few, that'd be a different story; but those were restocked a couple of weeks back.
